So I bought Ratchet a brand new 2.5 gallon tank, new silk plants, and a new heater. I rinsed everything and acclimated Ratchet to the temperature before adding him to his new home. He immediately went to exploring and showing the bubbles who was boss. He spent the night in his new home and enjoyed it very much.
The next day I had to be to work by 5 in the morning, so I got up at 3 and got ready without checking on everybody. I was only scheduled until 8 in the morning so I assumed I would be getting off around then. Unfortunately, I wasn't let off until 12 in the afternoon, so I went home to immediately feed my dog and my boys since they hadn't had breakfast yet.
When I got home, I noticed something was very wrong with Ratchet. He was lethargic, clamped, and staying in one corner. I immediately cupped him and change the tank water as well as his cup water. By then his eyes were starting to cloud, but it shouldn't have been an illness or water quality since all the water he was in for the past 24 hours was clean with relatively little ammonia.
I changed his water again a few hours later to see if he had improved any, but he was looking worse. I changed his water twice daily and added 2 tsp/gal epsom salt each time.
The next day the tips of his fins turned black and began to fall off. The red wash on his anal fin began to turn a sickly yellow. His scales started to turn black around the edges and his black face began to turn white. His eyes were completely clouded over and he was gasping for air all the time. I thought I was going to lose him that night.
The next day he was miraculously improved. The black tips of his fins had fallen off for the most part and the white on his face was improving. He wasn't breathing as hard as he was the night before. He was willing to eat and scarfed down the pellets I offered him. I wasn't going to lose my favorite grump.
It's been over a week since he beat chemical poisoning and burns now. He's eating like a champ and grumpier than ever. He's still living in the .5 gal hospital tank, but it's floating inside the new tank for warmth from the heater. He won't be going back into that tank until I rinse everything out a bajillion times and then a bajillion times more just to be safe.

Finally
Finally managed to get a job at McDonald's after 5 weeks of back and forth. Now I need to find out when I'm being paid so I can finish my payment on my college class.
Also, started a psuedo Nuzlocke challenge on Pokemon Pearl. Didn't want to restart and lose everything, so I just chose a starter of my own and went from there. I will probably start drawing and posting the comic for it soon, but no promises.
As far as bettas go, a lot went on. Quite a few passed from illness and some had to be euthanized due to injuries physical deformities. Ratchet is still doing well despite his tail biting. Mirage has also started to bite his tail, so he's
Devious Journal Entry
Well, after graduation, my sister bought 2 bettas. They were in bad condition and needed a lot of help to get better. And then things got out of hand with getting more and more. I caved in once and ended up with Ratchet, the halfmoon steel blue copper crowntail, and she got a giant green plakat female. the female, unfortunately, soon displayed dropsy and we were unable to save her despite our efforts. Ratchet, on the other hand, bloomed into a mightily aggressive but beautiful little male.
Then we got more and more and more.
We have 2 sororities for the 11 females. And surprisingly both are very peaceful with little flaring or chasing of an

So this year actually hasn't been good at all.
My mother's cat died in may after being diagnosed as diabetic and being on insulin for 1 month. She lost all interest in eating and was brought in to the vet to see if there was something wrong. She was acting like her blood sugar was incredibly low even though she hadn't gotten any insulin injections since she was not eating. Her blood sugar turned out to be incredibly high once again, but they couldn't figure out why since she was only drinking water occasionally. Surgery was recommended so they could look and see if there was something wrong inside, and there was. She had pancreatic cancer, s
This Year
So far this year hasn't been terrible. It started of with chocolate cake.
My dog had a stroke on the fifth, but has pulled through and is almost completely recovered. He has mild epilepsy so I can't take pictures with flash. Otherwise he is still progressing into blindness and deafness as expected.
Also, I will be having a HYDA scan done on the 20th to see if my gallbladder is retarded or not. If it's not, then I have to have an EGD to see if something is wrong with my stomach.
